Washington Youth Soccer is pleased to announce Changing the Game: Volunteer Celebration 2020, an upcoming event honoring the hundreds of thousands of dedicated volunteers that have served our organization since 1966. From coaches to administrators to everything in between, volunteers are the beating heart of youth soccer in Washington, and the sport wouldn’t be where it is today without their help. Volunteers truly change the game across our state every single day.

To honor this massive group of superstars both past and present, we’re asking every club in the state to nominate one distinguished volunteer to be recognized at our celebration on March 22, 2020 at the accesso Showare Center in Kent during the Tacoma Stars match. Winners will be recognized in more ways than one, so it promises to be a fulfilling and enjoyable event.

Anyone can submit a name for nomination, but we’re asking everyone to do so through a member of their club’s board of directors.

Nomination Process

  1.  Anyone involved with a WYS club (parents, coaches, administrators, etc.) can nominate a volunteer to the board of directors with the following info: name, role at club, time with club, main reason why they are submitting, one story they want to tell about the nominee.
  2.  The board of directors will gather nominations and collectively decide on ONE volunteer to nominate from the past and present of their club.
  3.  The president of the board will submit the club’s volunteer nominee through the form AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
